Girls’ weekend in Burgas, Bulgaria – where to stay and what to do?

Girls' weekend in Burgas, Bulgaria - where to stay and what to do

Living on the Black Sea Coast is a huge privilege for me, because no matter the weather, I can go for a walk or have a coffee by the sea. Nevertheless, sometimes, I need to change the scenery and the place for a weekend to recharge and gather new impressions. And the perfect occasion appeared – I was offered to spend a weekend in Burgas, a Bulgarian city located on the Black Sea Coast, within a 2-hour drive from Varna. So, I headed to Burgas, together with my mom, to spend a girls’ weekend there. But before that, let’s plan where to stay and what to do?

How to get to Burgas in Bulgaria?

Burgas is situated in the south-eastern part of Bulgaria, on the Black Sea Coast, and you can get there by plane (there is an airport), by bus or by car from Sofia and Varna. The city has an airport, and depending on where you live, there might be low-cost flights from your country. It is located 450 km from Sofia and 120 km from Varna. The easiest way to get there from Sofia is by car, by bus or by train. However, if you are travelling from Varna, I would advise going by bus or by car; the train takes twice the time as the bus. Once you have chosen how to get there, it’s time to think about the accommodation.

Why choose AQUA Hotel while you are on a girls’ weekend in Burgas?

I’ve chosen AQUA Hotel Burgas because the hotel offers cosy rooms with pristine, contemporary and soothing bathrooms. What I look for when choosing an accommodation is the bathroom, as well as whether it is clean and inviting for relaxation and calmness. Thus, the bathroom in the hotel room offered a tranquil atmosphere that you can enjoy after a long day of work, sightseeing or relaxing on the beach.

First, I wanted to spend a relaxing weekend with my mom, so I wanted to enjoy all the little things that the hotel offers. I had my morning coffee, enjoying the view of Atansovsko Lake from the window, then I went to the Sports Centre to get my dose of workouts.

Next, we enjoyed a great breakfast at the restaurant, and by lunchtime time we headed to the ZOO Burgas. This Zoo has become very popular because you can feed capybaras and alpacas in the appropriate contact zones. The Zoo is located outside the city, so you can take a bus or a taxi to get there. In our case, there was a bus stop in front of the hotel, so we got there easily.

Sightseeing in Burgas, Bulgaria

To continue our day in Burgas, we decided to visit the city centre. Burgas is a lovely Black Sea City with a lot of sea symbols like giant sharks, boats, shells and others. Needless to say, there are many Instagrammable spots that you can find out there just by walking around. This time we just walked and enjoyed the summer – we ate ice-cream, took a lot of photos and did some shopping. I love Burgas, it has some sea-summerish vibe, and it is very well organised in terms of infrastructure.
