The year 2019 was very generous in terms of travelling. I am grateful that I could make it to 10 countries visited with way more beautiful cities, beaches, landscapes, natural wonders and you name it.
Belgium is a tiny, young European country, situated between The Netherlands, Germany, France, and Luxembourg what makes it multicultural and multilingual as French and Flemish are the official languages. Although, Belgian biggest cities have a lot to offer in terms of attractions, chocolate, and beer. Belgium is proud to produce more than 1000 beer brands and 600,000 tons of chocolate every year!!! That’s what I am calling achievements!!! I selected 4 Belgium cities to visit on my Belgian fairy tale itinerary with a taste of waffles, chocolate and beer.
The only thing I knew about Shabla before visiting it was that the oldest lighthouse in Bulgaria is located there. For me, the Shabla Lighthouse was the guardian of the Black Sea and the easternmost point of our homeland. We headed to Shabla spontaneously as the weather was very warm for October and that what we actually discovered there – the oldest lighthouse in Bulgaria, Shabla lakes and the Sea!
There is one city in Bulgaria which is, according to me, very underrated. However, in my opinion, every place has its hidden gems if we are looking for them. This is the reason why I decided to head to Dobrich and to prove that there is a lot to see in the capital of the Dobrudzha region. Follow me on my city walk in Dobrich Old Town.
Blagoevgrad reminds me of my last trip in Bulgaria before starting my new life in the Netherlands. With a French friend of mine, we visited the Rila Monastery, hiked the 7 Rila Lakes, made a stop in Melnik for some more hike and wine and ended our trip in Blagoevgrad where she lived back at this time. That why I can’t wait to go on a city walk in Blagoevgrad – the city that is nestled in the Pirin mountain.
