Little rituals for a cosy life

Little rituals for a cosy life

Happiness is in the little pleasures of life. And everyone has his/ her little rituals for a cosy life. For example, going to the gym, reading or just spending time with friends have a huge impact on our well being.

Today I am going to share with you my little rituals for a cosy life.

Morning ritual: coffee in the garden

First of all, that’s my favorite morning ritual. I am an early bird and even on the weekends, I have my cup of coffee in the backyard.

Read a book and enjoy commuting

Commuting to and from work by public transport is a great opportunity to read more. And it’s also a way to switch from work mood to home mode.

Next on the list comes travelling. Planning a trip is among my favourite rituals and it makes me looking forward to a new experience ):

Friday evening ritual: having a detox bath

Another evening ritual for a cosy life is having a detox bath. Thus, Friday night is the perfect moment to relax, detox and make some cosy weekend plans…

After work ritual: It’s time to walk

It seems to me that walking is the best therapy to clean up your head after a long working day. So, my regular walking time is after dinner. The stunning Maximapark is just around the corner and the little farm there brings a good mood in my life immediately.

Organizing and sharing of get-togethers

Not only I love travelling, but I also very much enjoy organizing get-togethers. For example, I visit museums, hang out at different festivals or share a meal with my friends.

Cooking cosy rituals

Cooking is a way of living for me. In addition, I like cooking and I am not a fan of pre-prepared food and snacks. Good food, good life for you and your family.

Flowers

Having fresh flowers at home creates a totally different atmosphere. Don’t just buy flowers on occasions or wait for your birthday to get some. Treat yourself to a lovely bouquet on a regular basis.

Saturday market

I am talking about a regular fruit/ vegetables/ fish and cheese market that takes place every Saturday in the city center of Utrecht! I really enjoy choosing fresh products and taste the local delights! It’s a totally different experience from just going to the supermarket!

Massage or spa treatments

Another ritual not to resist! I go to massage treatment every month. It helps me combat stress and back pains. Also, going to a spa with a friend is my favourite way to relax, but unfortunately not always possible.

Cosy life: movies marathons

Watching an entire season of my favourite series at one go is another must- do activity on the weekends. You can find more ideas on what to watch on Netflix here: Five movies with Will Smith that are worth watching on Netflix

Biking

Biking is a part of Dutch and Scandinavian lifestyle! The best way to do the groceries, to go to work, to go wherever you want to! I cannot live without my bicycle!

Although, I keep a blogging routine and work hard on my blog every day, I still have a lot of things to improve. But, that’s the charm of having a project apart from work that keeps you wanting going home, right?

To conclude this cosy article, I would like to give you a little boost with this quote by Ijeoma Umebinyuo

Start now. Where you are. With fear, pain, doubt. Start with hands shaking, with the voice trembling. Start and don’t stop where you are, with what you have. Just… start.
