At the beginning of Juin 2021, I decided to spend the summer in Varna, on the beach, having cocktails and a lot of fun with my friends…Ask and you will be given as wise people say…..Here is my summary of how I was chasing the most beautiful moments of the second half of 2021…

July morning: chasing the most beautiful sunrise of 2021, Raysko Praskalo waterfall (“Heavenly Sprinkler” in Bulgarian), and Lefkada in Greece

First thing first, the most remarkable moment of July 2021 was July morning! This is one of the most beautiful celebrations in Bulgaria as everybody gets together on the beach and is awaiting the sunrise. We’ve organized a huge party on the Asparuhovo beach (near Varna) with a homemade breakfast cooked by Hug the Chef and dancing all together under the sounds of Jerusalema.

Raysko Praskalo waterfall and Hut Rai (Hut Heaven)
However, the best experience of July 2021 remains my hike to Hut Rai (Heaven) and the waterfall Raysko Praskalo (“Heavenly Sprinkler”). Rayskoto Praskalo is a magical place that has very powerful energy and the legend says that if you’ve never loved the mountains and never hiked, once you visit Rayskoto Praskalo, you will fall in love with mountains and hiking and will never stop looking for such adventures. I confirm that the legend is true as after that I am constantly looking for hiking groups to join and to hike whenever I have the chance.
Lefkada, Greece
In July 2021, I decided to spend my birthday in Lefkada. That was my first visit to Greece and it was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve chased in 2021. I admired mind-blowing beaches and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Chasing the most beautiful moments in August 2021: mud bath, mussels, and Perseids…
Mud bath in Shabla
August was quite relaxing with some unusual experiences that I’ve chased. The first experience I wanted to chase was having a mud bath in Shabla. Well, ticked on my bucket list. I am not going to say anything else, as the picture above speaks for itself.

Next comes the Perseid meteor shower (also known as The Perseids) that we chased in August 2021. We went camping in Tyulenovo and admired the Perseids in the night. One of the most beautiful moments I shared with one of my best friends. To be repeated in 2022 as well!

In addition, we went for mussels in Tyulenovo, and a friend of mine collected mussels directly from the sea. We had a great barbecue afterward and had a great time all together. This was totally unplanned, but, the best adventures are the ones that we did not plan at all….
Chasing the most beautiful moments in September 2021: renovation works and career path change…
Renovation work at home
Although September was quiet, I did renovation works for the first time in my life on my own. I was so proud of myself and that was one of the most fulfilling moments of the second part of 2021!
Therefore, September was a busy month as I was preparing myself for another great adventure – hiking Banderishki Lakes and getting ready to change my role at work!

Nevertheless, all the big changes in my life happened at the same moment…..October brought a bunch of unforgettable experiences and a lot of stress…
1300 years old tree – Baykushevata Mura
Next comes October with a great hike over the Pirin mountain and Banderishki Lakes, visit the oldest tree in Bulgaria – Baykushevata Mura, a fun day at Rila Fun Park, and more to come.
Banderishki Lakes and Baykushevata Mura are a must-see if you are in the Bansko region over autumn time…Banderishki Lakes are suitable for children and a day in the mountains spent with your family if you have any.

Rila Fun Park offers once in a lifetime experience with a toboggan – so much fun and joy! Do not miss it out if you are in the region. You can combine it with the Dancing bears park in Belitsa as well.
Colorful November: chasing the most beautiful moments of autumn 2021
Nevsha village
In November the weather was warm and sunny and I enjoyed a lot of colorful hikes in the Shumen region – Trite Kayi region, Nevsha village, and the Fort of Shumen. Shumen is really beautiful for hikes and paragliding, so do not miss out to visit the region if you pass by Varna.

The end of the year came with 2 of the most beautiful and totally unexpected escapes: Sofia and Nikolaevka village near Varna

Finally, December has come and brought two beautiful and totally unexpected moments – a spontaneous visit to Sofia and a day in nature in Nikolaevka village. The most beautiful moments are for sure the ones you do not plan…And they turn out to be amazing.
Few words about my spontaneous decision to head to Sofia – my team decided to celebrate Secret Santa and I decided to surprise them…A reunion that turned out to be unforgettable. It was snowing in Sofia that weekend and I enjoyed the wintertime in the Bulgarian capital.
Nikolaevka village (near Varna)
Last, but not least comes another great adventure – a decision to visit Nikolaevka village near Varna. When I read the advertisement for the event it was written that It is supposed to be an adventure…so I decided to give it a try.
Not to mention that the weather that day was warm and sunny and the village of Nikolaevka has a lot to offer in terms of places to visit. First thing first we visited the church – our guide told us that the icons over the walls (that were pretty big) were at least 100 years old and were still in a good shape. The church is really beautiful and is worth visiting.
Afterward, we headed to the woods of Nikolaevka and visited the dam near the village. I enjoyed a sunny day hiking in nature that finished in the local community center over a cup of tea and cookies.
To conclude, the time has come to put an end to 2021 that was challenging and beautiful at the same time for me. I have to say that the best day of the year remains 31.12.2021.

I had no plans for that day…The only thing I knew was that we were about to great the last sunrise on the beach…And the celebration was a real party with Bulgarian traditional horo (traditional dances), under the sounds of a Bulgarian bagpipe and a lot of great pictures.
Hike the Trite Kayi region
A beginning of a day to remember…We had a coffee and a breakfast afterward and one of a sudden a friend of ours said “Let’s go for the last hike for the year the Trite Kayi region“…Well, when no plans, you can say “yes” to all the spontaneous plans…right?

So we headed to Tarnak village and were hiking all day long…When we were coming back to the village the golden hour has greeted us…and the below pictures show more than I can say…
To summarize, the end of the year has come to the center of Varna with fireworks and champagne! We danced all night long at Cubo!
